How to submit to BetaList: cost, link and review time
Submitting to BetaList costs money: all submissions are paid, there is no free option, and you are refunded automatically if the startup is not selected. The Visit Site button carried no rel attribute and BetaList calls it do-follow, though the logo link carried rel="noopener nofollow". Plans feature you within about 14, 3 or 1 days. It suits new startups, pre-launch or live.

How to submit to BetaList
- Open the submit page and paste your website URL and email.
- Sign in or let BetaList create your account, using the emailed code if you already have one.
- Optionally submit through an agent: BetaList publishes an agent guide at betalist.com/agent that returns a claim link.
- Edit the name, pitch, description, topics, icon and screenshots.
- Choose a plan and pay at checkout; prices are shown at that step.
- Wait for the editorial decision by email, with an automatic full refund if the startup is not selected.
Is BetaList worth it?
BetaList is worth it if your startup fits its criteria and you accept paying before knowing the outcome. The FAQ states a hand edited listing, a do-follow backlink and UTM tagged traffic, plus a newsletter place on faster plans. It cites 500,000 plus monthly pageviews and 70,000 plus subscribers, which are BetaList's own figures.
The refund policy lowers the risk: if the startup is not selected, the payment is returned automatically. Once it has been featured, refunds are not available. BetaList says refunds can take 5 to 10 business days to reach a statement, depending on the bank.
What to prepare before you submit to BetaList
Check the criteria first. BetaList wants a startup that is new to its audience, whether pre-launch, in beta or live, and a technology product with a distinct landing page where visitors can sign up. It rejects free hosting subdomains such as vercel.app and direct app store links, so you need your own domain.
Prepare the copy. The agent guide limits the pitch to 75 characters in one sentence and the description to 700 characters of plain text, with up to 5 topics and 5 screenshots. Every listing is hand edited, but closer submissions need less editing. The submit page also lets an agent draft the submission, but the founder must still review, choose a plan and pay.
BetaList trade-offs
The cost is certain and the plan prices are not published outside checkout, so you cannot compare them in advance. Editorial selection is strict: BetaList says it receives thousands of submissions a month and does not give feedback on individual rejections. Plan details such as price appear only after you have created an account and started a submission.
Each startup generally gets one feature, with up to two opportunities, once pre-launch and once at launch, separated by at least a few weeks. The link detail also matters: the logo link read as nofollow while the Visit Site button had no rel, so judge value on the button.
How we checked
We read BetaList’s own submission, pricing and policy pages on 2026-11-01, and for the link attribute we read the raw HTML of a live public listing rather than relying on the platform’s description. Listing checked: betalist.com/startups/basicops. Prices and rules change; the date at the top is the last time each fact on this page was checked. Sources:

Common questions
Is the BetaList backlink dofollow?
BetaList says the Visit Site button is do-follow and does not use rel="nofollow". We read the HTML of three listings on 2026-11-01: the button had no rel attribute, while the logo link carried rel="noopener nofollow". Both go through a 301 redirect that adds ref=betalist.
Is BetaList free?
No. The FAQ says all submissions are paid and there is no free submission option. If your startup is not selected you receive a full refund automatically.
How long does BetaList take to feature a startup?
It depends on the plan. The agent guide describes Lite within about 14 days, Standard within about 3 days and Premium within about 1 day. Review happens before featuring.
Do I need to be pre-launch to submit to BetaList?
No. BetaList features pre-launch waitlists, betas and products already live, as long as the startup is new to its audience and not widely known.
Can I upgrade a BetaList plan after submitting?
Yes. The FAQ says that if you submitted on a lower plan you can upgrade to a faster plan from your dashboard, which brings faster featuring or guaranteed newsletter inclusion. Refunds are not available once a startup has been featured.
