How to submit to AppSumo: cost, link and review time

AppSumo is a deal marketplace, not a free directory. Applying is free with no upfront cost, and AppSumo takes a negotiated revenue share on sales. It states about a 10% acceptance rate and campaigns of around 60 days. Third-party product pages we read linked to the vendor with rel="noopener noreferrer" or no rel at all, with no nofollow. It suits stable software for small business buyers.

Is AppSumo worth it?

AppSumo is worth considering only if you want to sell, not just be listed. It is a selective marketplace where AppSumo promotes your product to its buyer list in exchange for a revenue share. AppSumo states 1.5M active community members, $113M+ paid to partners, and typical 60-day earnings of $40K to $80K for average performers. Those are its own figures, based on the top 50% of partners, so they are not a forecast.

The financial profile differs from a directory. You pay nothing upfront, but you give up a share of revenue and often a discount structure, in return for access to a large buyer list and marketing support. AppSumo also says top partners can receive paid ad spend on their behalf, up to $25K, and dedicated account managers.

What to prepare before you submit to AppSumo

Have a working, stable product and a support plan. AppSumo says it rejects pre-launch concepts, quick cash grabs, products with no customer support plan, and consumer-only products. Prepare to negotiate a deal. A lifetime deal is common but not required: AppSumo says it also works with annual pricing and other structures, except for AppSumo Radar, which supports lifetime deals only. Plan for refunds and cash timing. Payouts arrive 60 days after the end of each sales month to match the 60-day refund window.

Gather evidence of stability: a working product, a team, a track record and a support plan. AppSumo also asks whether you will respond to reviews and treat buyers well, and the application takes about five minutes according to the page.

AppSumo trade-offs

Acceptance is roughly 10%, so most applicants are turned down. Revenue share rates are negotiated, not published. A lifetime deal can cap long-term revenue per customer. AppSumo notes you keep the customers and reviews, but pricing decisions are yours to weigh. The link benefit is incidental. The product page links to your site, but the reason to apply is sales and reviews.

Selection is strict and the economics are not published. Partners and the terms vary widely, and AppSumo says some partners get 1,000 or more customers in a month while others get single-digit sales. Treat the earnings ranges on its page as marketing, not a forecast.

How we checked

We read AppSumo’s own submission, pricing and policy pages on 2026-11-01, and for the link attribute we read the raw HTML of a live public listing rather than relying on the platform’s description. Listing checked: appsumo.com/products/plerdy/. Prices and rules change; the date at the top is the last time each fact on this page was checked. Sources:
