NursingLedger

NursingLedger is a free public-data research product for exploring U.S. nursing-home records. It brings together four CMS source families that are published separately: provider information, federal penalty records, reported ownership filings, and Payroll Based Journal staffing data. Users can search facilities by name, city, or ZIP code and review ratings, certified beds, penalty records, reported ownership relationships, and reported nursing staffing in one facility profile. NursingLedger also provides state directories, ownership groups, watchlists, and facility comparison tools to make the underlying public records easier to explore. The project connects records using the CMS certification number and keeps imported source values distinct from calculations made by the site. Missing values remain unreported where the underlying data does not provide them. NursingLedger is intended for research and public-information use and does not create a proprietary safety or quality score or present its record-based ordering as a safety ranking.
