Boothsummer

Boothsummer is an online photobooth that runs in a browser tab. Open the page on a phone or a laptop, allow the camera, pick a frame, and a countdown walks you through the strip, either every slot in one run or one slot at a time. Any slot you are unhappy with can be retaken on its own, and swapping to a different frame partway through keeps the shots you have already taken. There is nothing to install and no photobooth app to download, on either a phone browser or a desktop one. The frame catalogue is the part most people spend their time in. It runs from plain minimal borders through cute, vintage, festive and seasonal sets, in layouts from a single polaroid to a four slot strip, and it is browsable by mood tag, by slot count or by name. Every frame is drawn at a size meant for real printing, so a finished strip holds up as a physical object rather than only on a screen. Colour and retouching sit on top of that, and all of it is optional. Photos can be graded with the same kind of LUTs used in studios, given a light retouching pass, and signed with a handwritten name or date in a choice of writing faces, Vietnamese diacritics included. The retouching runs after the shutter on a photo that is holding still, rather than tracking a face live, so what you see in the preview is exactly what lands in the download. Anything you do not want, you switch off, and nothing is ever added to a picture behind your back. Switch on Recap video before shooting and the booth builds a short clip alongside the photo, showing the same strip in the same frame with every slot in motion. It carries no sound, plays back at three speeds, and downloads as a video file for stories. Photos stay on the device by default and download straight from it. They are uploaded only when you tap Share, which exists to make a link. Shooting as a guest needs no account at all; signing in only adds history, so past sessions can be reopened and downloaded again later. The whole point is that a photobooth stops being somewhere you travel to. No getting to a shop, no queueing for a machine, no paying per session, and no settling for whichever frames that shop happens to stock. Downloads come out clean, with no watermark burned in, and the booth is free.
